When did GDPR come into force?

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force on May 25, 2018.

It is a regulation enacted by the European Union (EU) to protect the personal data and privacy of EU citizens. The GDPR introduced stricter regulations regarding data protection and privacy rights and it applies to all EU member states and also affects organizations outside the EU that process the personal data of EU citizens.

May 25, 2023, will mark the fifth anniversary of GDPR.
