What is subdomain consent?

Subdomain consent is a type of consent that maintain users’ consent preferences as they navigate between subdomains (blog.example.com or app.example.com). This means that the user will see a banner asking for cookie consent on the first visit to a website. Once they have made their choice, subsequent visits to subdomains of the website will not display any further banners to the user.

To enable this feature, it is necessary to ensure that the consent management platform (CMP) crawls all web pages, including subdomains, and incorporates any cookies found across these pages. CookieYes is a cookie CMP that enables websites to recognize and maintain user consent across the primary domain and all its subdomains.
