What is opt-out?
Opt-out refers to a user actively denying consent, for example, to use cookies. This would mean that a user does not want a website to store cookies on their device using an option to remove or disable those cookies provided by the website. Like opt-in, the opt-out mechanism for cookies is also implemented through a cookie popup or banner, or in some cases, a settings page. Opt-out is also given for users to withdraw their consent. This way users have more control over how their data and decision-making power.
